Teachers at PTAA provide a variety of fun and unique lessons to help students understand the importance of math in day-to-day life. Every level of math from kindergarten to Algebra II to Texas College Bridge is taught with care and dedication.
Our esteemed science teachers engage young learners through hands-on projects, such as hatching baby chicks to learn about embryology and life cycles. (The featured chick gave consent to be on this website.)
Our ELAR classes build critical thinking skills and help students improve their writing abilities in preparation for real-world situations. Students at PTAA are taught how to write in a variety of styles, as well as how to fact-check and cite their sources to avoid all forms of plagiarism.
From U.S. History to World Geography, our social studies classes at PTAA give students the tools to think critically and analyze the credibility and content of political and historical media. Every day our history teachers work hard to ensure the best student outcomes that help students as active citizens.
Our P-TECH program gives students the ability to graduate high school with their associate's degree, providing them with a head start in their academic career. We partner with both Paris Junior College and ETAMU, and we pay for the vast majority of our students' dual-credit tuition costs. Our program offers a variety of pathways, including business, computer science, teaching, and more!
Our school has an active NHS chapter that recognizes academic excellence and gives students access to generous scholarships, helping them to not only excel in their academic pursuits, but in life.
Our school's Beta Club fosters fundamental leadership skills and builds a community that empowers students to improve both their academic and social standings. Through events such as convention and service projects, together students in Beta build a better school community and thereby a better world.
Art and humanities courses at our school help build ingenuity and creativity for students wanting to pursue the arts. Furthermore, clubs such as Art Club and History Club create a welcoming community for these upcoming artists and innovators.
PTAA offers many CTE pathways, including Computer Science, EMT, Educator Aid training, and Video Game Design. Students completing these tracks will graduate with a certification in their chosen pathway. Computer science is another CTE course students can take at PTAA. During their high school years, students will learn the basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and then dive deeply into programming with Python, a powerful language used for many different purposes. Students can take the exam to receive their Python certification following their completion of the pathway.
Our school has been participating in academic UIL for years. In 2024 we sent three students to state UIL in several different events, including multiple journalism events, in which one of them placed fifth. Several of our students this year have advanced to regionals and will be competing soon in their respective events.
Our Athletics Program supports a vast myriad of sports, such as basketball, volleyball, and even golf! The program boasts healthy habits and fair competition that builds skills that transfer even off of the court. GO PANTHERS!
Our school has an AMAZING band that's constantly expanding! From euphoniums and trumpets to snares, flutes and glockenspiels, all musicians are welcome to join our middle school-high school band program! We've come so far since our founding in 2022, and we're happy to say that we'll continue to grow and learn!
PTAA has a dedicated team of cheerleaders who bring fun to every spirit rally! Our talented cheer team shows up at every game, from basketball to volleyball! Their school spirit really shines through in their elaborate acrobatics and tumbling routines.
